District Announcements Spotswood's Teacher of the Year Recipients Announced This year's School Teacher of the Year Recipients for the Spotswood School District are as follows: Spotswood High School Leslie Malec, Marketing Memorial Middle School Jo-Ann Moyer, Special Education Appleby School Nancy Torchiano, Grade 5 Schoenly School Daniel Layton, Kindergarten Congratulations to these exemplary members of our teaching staff on a job very well done! 2012-13 School Year Calendar Released At its meeting on January 17, 2012, the Spotswood Board of Education approved the district calendar for the 2012/13 school year. Appleby Drama Club Flapjack Fundraiser The Appleby School Drama Club will be holding a Flapjack Fundraiser on Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Click here for more details. Spotswood Public Schools Kindergarten Registration All children who will be five years old on or before October 1, 2012 who reside in Spotswood or Helmetta will be eligible to register for Kindergarten. Registration will be held February 7, 8, and 9, 2012. Further information can be obtained through our Kindergarten Registration page. Tots & Teens Program Now Accepting Applications for 2012/13 All children who will be four years old on or before October 1, 2012 who reside in Spotswood or Helmetta will be eligible for this program at Spotswood High School. The class meets Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:35 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Click here to download an application. We accept children on a "first come, first serve" basis, so don't delay! Dates to Remember Click here to download a “Dates to Remember” document which highlights upcoming events in the Spotswood School District. Monthly Security and Fire Drills Parents/Guardians, In order to establish a school environment that promotes a safe learning atmosphere all district schools will participate in monthly security and fire drills throughout the school year. In the event that you see large groups of students walking, they will be participating in the mandatory state drill.
